On February 16 Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro met with Russian business representatives in Moscow. Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Sergey Dankvert also participated in the meeting.

During the meeting it was stressed that the trade turnover between Russia and Brazil is accumulating. It reached $7.5 billion in 2021. The countries also carry out mutual supplies of agricultural products and are interested in increasing the volume of consignments. It was noted that agriculture can become one of the points of growth of cooperation between the both states.

Deliveries of the main products of the agro-industrial complex from Brazil to Russia in 2021 amounted to about $1.5 billion, exports from the Russian Federation to this country are much lower. In this regard, the Russian party is interested in leveling the trade balance with Brazil. 

Currently, 14 domestic companies can supply aquatic products to Brazil and one producer is authorized for beef export. In addition, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Brazilian competent authority are currently working to coordinate the possibility of poultry meat supplies from Russia. The Russian party is also interested in increasing the volume of grain supplies to Brazil.
